Growing older or living with a long-term condition, such as dementia, can make everyday tasks more challenging, especially as these conditions progress. Our memories are not as sharp in old age and we can become increasingly forgetful, even with things we are so used to doing every day.
For someone living on their own it can be hard to keep on top of everyday tasks and maintaining a routine can often be a challenge. We understand just how much things change as our loved ones get older and how help may be required with carrying out daily tasks and responsibilities which may otherwise not get done. Our aim is to take the worry and stresses out of everyday life for both you and your loved one whilst enabling them to live comfortably in their own homes.
At Bridgewater Home Care we can take care of your loved one by helping with everyday tasks, whether that be assisting out of bed each morning, helping to bathe, getting dressed, brushing teeth, taking medication, or a helping hand walking to the shops and getting the groceries or picking up prescriptions.
With this in mind, we will suggest any adaptations we feel may improve the safety of the home for your loved ones and assist in any way we can to improve quality of life.
We believe that a solid routine can help improve the lives of many of our client’s and we will help to embed certain tasks or activities within each day or each week of our Care Specialists visits.
Structure can really help, especially those living on their own, to become more confident when carrying out everyday tasks and help stimulate memory so as to not forget important day to day activities or appointments. Our Care Specialists will be there to help and support your loved one along the way, from assisting with physical tasks such as getting in and out of the shower each day, to things that will further enhance quality of life such as tidying up and making the bed.
It is important that any medication needed is administered as advised by a GP or Pharmacist and taken at the times recommended. It is commonly something that can be difficult to manage in older age which is why we can provide a service that will assist with preparing as well as administering medication so that your loved one’s health is not compromised when living at home without support. Our Care Specialists are all highly trained and qualified to carry out these services, giving you the confidence in us to look after your loved one safely and to a high standard.
It may be that your loved one has specific needs regarding medical assistance, in this case please ask at your care consultation and find out how we can help.
All our services are personalised and tailored around each individual, helping people to live well, in their own way, at home.
