It is heart-breaking to think that many older people will experience loneliness and isolation at some point in their life. We might not have as much time as we would wish to spend with our families, and we cannot be there to support them all the time. Some adults living alone can go months without speaking to anyone. At Bridgewater Home Care we want to prevent social isolation and provide those living alone with a chance to reconnect with those in their local community.
Loneliness can become a cause of so many other detrimental factors to one’s health, including depression, sleep deprivation, hypertension and forms of stress and anxiety. The loss of a loved one, reduced mobility, or isolation from family who don’t live nearby can all be contributing factors to vulnerable adults experiencing loneliness. Sometimes the best comfort and support can be in the form of a friend to listen and to talk to. Our aim is to be that ‘someone’ you can trust and rely on whenever your loved one may need that emotional support or just someone to have a chat with.
For older and more vulnerable adults it can become increasingly difficult to leave the home unaccompanied and in turn this reduces the amount of contact they have with other people on a day-to-day basis. For those living with a disability or recovering from surgery at home it can be frustrating that socialising isn’t as easy as it used to be.
We aim to create a unique, personalised service that is aimed at providing a friend, companion, and confidant that your loved one can trust and rely on. Whether it is just for a friendly chat every now and then, or regular socialisation, our Companionship Care Specialists can be that friend to listen and talk to.
You and your loved one can rest assured that all conversations and discussions are completely confidential and that your dedicated Care Specialist is there as a friend and companion to support your loved one through various aspects of day-to-day life.
Every single one of our Care Specialists are recruited, selected, and trained by our own Bridgewater Home Care team. You can have complete confidence in us that we will select the most appropriate Care Specialists for your loved one, taking into consideration personalities, preferences, common interests and experience. When finding a companion for a loved one it is so important that you can trust in the fact that you will receive the highest quality support, that is what we are here for.
