Here are some recent reviews that we have received this year on Homecare.co.uk and through Trustist on Facebook from clients and their families that make us feel so proud to make a difference:-
Bridgewater Home Care (Wigan) Review from A P (Daughter of Client) published on homecare.co.uk on 17 February 2022:
“We find all the carers allocated to help to care for Dad are genuinely caring/thoughtful people. They listen to what Dad and us have to say. Dad is most comfortable around them, which is very important to us. They are friendly and eager to help and assist Dad in his caring needs. We are very appreciative of the care they give and support to us as a family. We trust them to care for Dad at times during the evening when we need to rest.“
Bridgewater Home Care (Warrington) Review from D W (Daughter of Client) published on homecare.co.uk on 17 February 2022
“We are so grateful to our neighbour for recommending Bridgewater overnight waking care. I can now have a few good nights sleep at home and enjoy an evening out, knowing that my mum is in the capable and caring hands of our wonderful carer. Mum can continue living in her own home, which means so much and my life has resumed some normality. Huge thanks.“
Bridgewater Home Care (Bolton) Review from A H (Daughter of Client) published on homecare.co.uk on 28 October 2021
“The careers that come to mum have done a great job from day one. She feels very comfortable with them and something that is very important to her is the way they share stories about their families. Mum is on her own for a large part of the day so the carer’s visit is a welcome break. Then when I visit she enjoys repeating these stories to me. At 95, mum needs help with showering and dressing which was difficult for her to accept at first but the carers were so professional and thoughtful in the way they treated her, that mum is very happy and relaxed with them. For me, if mum is happy then so am I. A big thank you to all the staff.”
Bridgewater Home Care Warrington Review by Karen W on 15/03/2022 (Facebook) – Trustist
“I have recently returned from a visit to my non-local parents who are now being cared for by the wonderful and dedicated carers of Bridgewater Home Care. Normally my visits are followed up with lengthy emails expressing my concerns to Social Services, multiple medical and other agencies and my parents’ GP surgery. This time, however, since Bridgewater took over their care, I was delighted to find both parents happy and relaxed, smiling and enjoying life for the first time in years.“
“At 175 miles away it can be hard to keep a daily check on my parents but the carers make daily notes and observations to which I have secure online access. These provide complete peace of mind, noting any health or behavioural concerns, even their mood on visits so I can gauge how both parents are both physically and mentally, which is invaluable. The carers also go a step further in taking and forwarding photos of special occasions such as my father’s birthday (their main carer even took home-made scones), a photo showing mum’s delight with her first professional post-Covid hair cut then another when mum had enjoyed an afternoon of pampering with bubble bath, perfume and chocolates. These may seem such small things but they are invaluable to family members. Although, strictly speaking, only my 86 year old mother is Bridgewater’s client, the carers also help and support my 91-year-old father while also keeping an eye on his own welfare too – right down to noting a plaster which alerted me to a return of his skin cancer.”
“The dedication of the carers is clear. They know my parents well and individually, are always willing to help whether this is personal care, helping in the home, posting a letter or popping out for bread or milk or any other tasks which crop up. They arrive on time exactly as promised, are thoughtful and considerate, nothing is ever too much trouble and all offers of help are provided with a warm and friendly smile.”
Mum’s main carer, Jane, is an absolute gem. She looks after mum so gently and thoughtfully, reading her moods at the time and taking any more difficult Alzheimer’s-induced or stressed behaviour in her stride. Jane has the enviable ability to be able to distract mum when she becomes stressed whether by playing a CD of soothing music (she has even brought CDs from her own personal collection) or getting mum to focus on another activity while she calms down. Every care visit is focused on mum and her needs to provide exactly the right support she needs at the time, which can vary each day and even during the day. Visits which have started with mum stressed and anxious have ended with both parents calm, happy and relaxed just 30 minutes later.”
“Not only do I read the carers’ visit reports online but I have met several and watched how skilled they are with my parents. Their support has visibly transformed their lives enabling them to remain together at home, which is so important to both parents (and myself) while also maintaining their independence – which is probably not the case for many frail +86/91 years olds living with Alzheimer’s and multiple other health conditions.”
“I never imagined I would be writing this review because my parents were so insistent that they wanted to remain independent, be left alone without any support and resented any ‘intrusion’, as they saw it at the time, into their lives. Now, just a few months on, Bridgewater’s carers have worked their magic on both parents who now regard them as friends and they wouldn’t be without them. Mum even gave Jane, her main carer, a hug and kiss just yesterday to express her appreciation of her care – unthinkable just months ago when support was being so strongly resisted! As their care needs increase, I have complete confidence that Bridgewater will be there at their side continuing to support them through the coming years – and both parents also see Bridgewater as part of their future too.“
“Having been in regular contact with Bridgewater Homecare for nearly 6 months, I can fully recommend Bridgewater Homecare to anyone considering at-home care and support for their parents or other relatives, and whenever I’ve needed to discuss anything, the agency has always been a pleasure to deal with being easy to contact, positive and responsive. I hope also that, should I need care myself in the future, that I will be fortunate enough to find care of a similar calibre as that provided by Bridgewater. Thank you to all my parents’ carers, Rebecca (Care Manager) and extra-special thanks to Jane for transforming my parents’ lives.”
