The scores are calculated from independent reviews made by people being cared for or by relatives/friends of the people being cared for.
Covid has presented Bridgewater Home Care and all care providers with an unprecedented range of complex and demanding issues, such as interpreting rapidly changing legislation and ensuring access to essential safety equipment such as PPE. Managing Director and founder of Bridgewater Home Care, Phil Eckersley, has been meeting these demands head on and has led the implementation of Bridgewater’s responsive coronavirus strategy which ensures the safety of their clients and carers – focusing heavily upon infection control.
Phil commented “The biggest impact on the business has been managing the health and safety of our care teams, office staff and our clients. It has been a challenging time acquiring enough PPE to meet the new standards and guidelines issued by the Government and Department of Health but we are proud to have a highly enthusiastic and hard working team with a group of key suppliers who have ensured that it is ‘business as usual’ when caring for our clients and our staff in the safest way possible.” Phil went on to add that “one of the biggest actions though was ensuring that we had a calm, strong and level headed management team who maintained a presence in the field throughout the pandemic so that no member of our care team or any client ever felt alone or vulnerable.”
Adjustments have been made across the board to ensure safety for all, “During the crisis we conducted well-being checks with staff and clients and we are delighted to have received countless emails and phone calls from our clients’ families thanking us for our efforts.“
Bridgewater Home Care has also recently been recognised for our efforts as an Employer of first choice thanks to our amazing office staff and care teams winning the “Employer of the Year” and “Wellbeing in the Workplace” Awards at the virtual Greater Manchester Business Awards 2020 on Friday 4th September 2020.
