What will your responsibilities be as a Home Care Specialist?

We encourage and promote independence; we go above and beyond to care for our clients and ensure their wellbeing. You will be matched with vulnerable adults in your local community, and you will support them to remain independent both in their own home and by keeping them active in the local community.

This will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with a daily routine including mornings, lunchtimes, and evenings
  • Providing personal care where required
  • Prompting to take any medication
  • Taking them out shopping or attending local groups, events, or appointments
  • Preparing meals and light household duties.

What Qualities do I need to become a Care Specialist?

No experience is required as an induction course & training is given prior to starting work, including shadowing an experienced member of staff.

Above all the qualities that we are looking for, include someone who:

  • Shows a commitment to quality and being the best they can.
  • Can provide excellent care and support to all our clients.
  • Shows dignity and respect to the people that they work with.
  • Works well together as part of our team.
  • Is naturally caring with a positive outlook.

What do I need to have in place to become a care team member?

To go out and deliver high-quality care in our local communities you will need a driving license and access to a car during your work time.

As you would expect there are safeguards in place to ensure that all our Care team are qualified to work within this sector. These include personal and professional references, enhanced DBS checks (Disclosure and Barring Service, previously CRB checks). We adhere to the local authorities’ safeguarding policies and we are compliant with the CQC (Care Quality Commission).
