Bridgewater Home Care has started to give out ” Lollipop badges ” to staff who make a difference to other people’s lives.
This was inspired by Drew Dudley, who made a great video called Leading with Lollipops ,that quickly and expertly explains how you can make a difference in other people’s lives without even knowing it.
We thought that you would like to know about one of our carers, Kim , who was out at work a few weekends ago, and whilst driving to a client’s home came across a motorcyclist who was involved in an accident in front of her car.
Kim did not hesitate to help the motorcyclist, being the first on the scene, she did not think twice to help him. Kim called for an ambulance for the motorcyclist to ensure that he was ok and in no further danger and then she contacted his next of kin and waited for the ambulance to arrive at the scene before continuing her journey to her client.
Kim, then found out that the man she was helping was an off duty police officer and a fellow key worker and most importantly that he was being taken care of.
As a result of Kim’s actions , I am sure that you will all agree that she certainly deserved her lollipop badge .
