Bridgewater Home Care Wigan office staff were determined to get fitter, enjoy the fresh air, whilst raising vital funds for Maggie’s throughout January.
During January 2021 we have walked 50 miles plus trying to raise awareness and funds for this wonderful charity. This Sunday 31st January, all the Bridgewater Home Care staff who have joined in with the Maggie’s fund-raising event will be doing the last mile !! and this will be a “virtual walk” by everyone this time!
We all have our own reasons for taking part. Shaneil Gaskell, our Care Manager told us ” I believe Cancer has touched everyone in one way or another and this is such an amazing charity and I wanted to take part to raise awareness of the work that they do .”
Maggie’s rely on voluntary donations to support and grow its network of Centres and to develop its unique, high-quality programme of support. The charity’s aim is to make the biggest difference possible to people living with cancer and their family and friends.
- Emotional and psychological support – counselling, bereavement, caring for someone with cancer
- Benefits advice – entitlement, other forms of financial and practical help
- Relaxation and stress management – tai chi, yoga, art, creative writing, visualisation
- Practical advice – managing hair loss, nutrition advice, beauty advice
Maggie’s Manchester Centre is based at the Robert Parfett Building, in the grounds of The Christie Hospital, Manchester, and opened in April 2016.
