2022… A Summary

In Bridgewater Home Care Halton we had a truly inspiring year! Opening our new office in May and completing the registration in July, we have had a fantastic few months. Here are some amazing work that we were able to do this year.

Office Opening – May 2022

We opened the first ever Bridgewater Home Care franchise office in Halton covering Widnes, Runcorn and Frodsham areas. We were honoured to be joined by the The Mayor of Halton at the time, Councillor Christopher Rowe and The Founder of Bridgewater Home Care Phil Eckersley for the inauguration.

Care Quality Commission (CQC) Registration – July 2022

We were delighted to receive the registration from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a new provider.  We found the process of registration very straightforward but at the same time quite nerve-wracking.

We were recognised as a service that is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led during our registration. Our goal was to do our utmost best to maintain a quality, reliable and trustworthy service adhering to the latest regulations.

Recruitment and training days – Aug – Dec 2022

All our staff at Bridgewater Home Care will undergo a full induction and a training both in the classroom and online. In the classroom we learn about the Role of a Home Carer, Medication Administration, Moving & Handling, Dementia Awareness, PEG Training, Catheter Care and many more.

Our award winning online E-Learning cloud system enable our staff to complete a level 2 qualification on essential training such as Safeguarding, Food hygiene, End of Life Care, Fire safety etc. All our mandatory training will consist of up to 30 hours of learning and assessments. We always try to make our training days interesting by doing group discussions, activities and sometimes even a donut or two.

Festivities started – Dec 2022

We got excited for Christmas a little too early in Halton and our tree went up mid-November. We had classic Christmas songs playing in the office and hot chocolate was available for everyone who dropped by.

Staff struggled a little with the unforgiving winter weather. However some Care Specialists came up with creative solutions such as leaving the stuck car in the snow and walk. Many drivers offered lifts to the walkers, and one even rode a sledge to the her care visits.

We held our first Annual Award Ceremony where our amazing staff who went above and beyond this year received some well-earned recognition.  We all had a good laugh watching all staff get called out for their strengths as well as their quirks. By the end everyone had an award and a Christmas goody bag and helped themselves with some delicious pizza.

This Christmas we truly went above and beyond for one dear client who has no family left and we did not think he deserves to be alone on Christmas day. With his permission we arranged a little Christmas tree on his lounge which he has not had since he was 10. And most of our staff volunteered to take turns to cook him a delicious Christmas Dinner and kept him company on Christmas day. He was truly thankful and was smiling ear to ear the entire day.

What a year …

As 2022 came to an end, we took a minute to reflect on what we had done this year. We were able to help many people in many ways. Whether it was a simple help with personal care in the morning, a quick trip to the shops to pick up the paper, accompany to doctors appointments or whether we helped someone in their end of life to be as comfortable as they can be in their final moments, we truly felt blessed to have the opportunity to make a difference. We are excited to see what 2023 will bring and we look forward to keep improving and try to help people in any way we can.
