Bridgewater Harborough Raises £1,300 for Dementia UK at Blenheim Palace Triathlon
At Bridgewater Home Care Harborough, we believe in going the extra mile—sometimes literally! Our Managing Director, Alex Bast-Boverhoff, stepped far outside his comfort zone this summer to take part in the Blenheim Palace Triathlon, raising an incredible £1,300 for Dementia UK.
The challenge involved an open-water swim in the palace lake, a scenic yet demanding cycle, and a run through the historic grounds. Alex teamed up with Carly Rose from Harborough Innovation Centre and Bryony Evans from RMI Independent Financial Advice, completing the event with determination and team spirit.
Dementia UK provides vital support through their Admiral Nurses, who offer specialist care for families affected by dementia—a cause close to our hearts at Bridgewater Home Care. The funds raised will help these nurses continue their crucial work in communities across the UK.
Reflecting on the experience, Alex said:
“It was a huge personal milestone for me—definitely outside my comfort zone—but knowing we were raising funds for such an important cause made every step worthwhile.”
