How are Bridgewater Home Care supplying COVID-safe care during the pandemic?
The safety of our clients is paramount and since the outbreak of the pandemic we have ensured all our Care Specialists have been well informed and well equipped with COVID-safe policies and PPE. As we entered into a national lockdown, we followed Public Health England’s guidelines closely and were able to continue providing safe care and support in our client’s home as ‘key workers’. We increased our stock of personal protective equipment to allow our Care Specialists to continue caring for our clients in a COVID-safe manner and delivered extensive training and guidance on Coronavirus infection prevention and control, including the correct use of PPE, hand sanitisation, surface sanitisation and social distancing.
What extra measures have been put in place?
We have an excellent relationship with our suppliers of Personal Protective Equipment and have been able to receive an extensive supply of PPE including visors, face masks, gloves and aprons, which our Care Specialists wear to each client visit, where appropriate. We have also delivered regular COVID-19 training to our Care Specialists, updating our COVID-safe policies and procedures as guidelines and regulations change.
Our management team have ensured that carers are well informed of any changes relating to the coronavirus outbreak, including changes to guidelines and restrictions, and have monitored each client’s condition to ensure we are safely providing services that suit each individual’s needs.
We have increased services for those shielding, including delivering and organising shopping orders, collecting prescriptions, and offering more companionship focussed activities for those at home on their own. Our priority is ensuring your loved one remains safe at home and that we can help them in whichever way possible to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
All our employees are offered the COVID-19 vaccine and have regular tests to prevent any potential transmission of the virus.
We will continue to follow any future guidance and regulations, whether these ease restrictions or enforce any further restrictions.
What services do Bridgewater Home Care offer during the pandemic?
We are pleased to continue offering our full range of services including companionship, home help, personal care, and specialist care. We have adapted certain services to ensure they are COVID-safe, our priority being protecting the vulnerable and those who may be shielding or self-isolating.
During a time where families aren’t as able to see their loved ones as much as they would like, our companionship services have been particularly important to support those living on their own. Our Care Specialists provide the much needed company and daily support to clients by offering a familiar face for conversation and a range of activities. These can include physically and mentally stimulating activities, help pursuing hobbies, assistance with jobs around the home and company for a cup of tea every now and then!
Our Care Specialists are also able to help your loved one with any duties and responsibilities around the home with our home help services including daily housework and maintaining a clean, sanitised home environment.
We also offer tailored personal care which is vital to helping our clients living on their own to maintain good personal hygiene and help with their daily care routine. This can include helping with medication, incontinence care, assistance with bathing and dressing and much more.
If my loved one is self-isolating is it still safe for them to receive care?
Yes – under the guidance of Public Health England we at Bridgewater Home Care are able to continue providing essential support to vulnerable individuals under the status of ‘keyworkers’. Along with the many COVID-safe policies and procedures we have adopted to support our existing clients, we are also continuing to take on new clients in order to support those in the wider community.
Following the ever-changing guidelines and regulations set by the government we ensure that our vulnerable clients still have access to all the vital services and support they need during such a difficult time. Our policies and procedures, including full PPE, increased sanitising and effective hand-washing and social distancing measures allow our Care Specialists to safely provide home care services to those that are more vulnerable and self-isolating.
Please be assured that our Care Specialists have all undergone extra training on coronavirus infection and control guidance, including ongoing training and following government guidelines.
How are Bridgewater supporting clients and the wider community?
At Bridgewater Home Care we are continuing to support our clients every day, working and communicating with families and loved ones to make any changes to care plans during the pandemic.
